The Situation

The appointment of a new Director and a re-structure within the Marketing department had caused a shortfall of resources in the short-term while new people were recruited and new roles bedded down. There was still a high volume of campaigns across the subject areas to be devised, agreed and implemented while this process was ongoing.

The Solution

An experienced interim Marketing Manager was brought in for 3 months on a flexible basis (1-4 days a week according to need) to manage the large volume of marketing campaigns across the full subject range including: launch of new Primary Maths programme; Secondary English writing scheme; new edition of A Level Sociology text. All campaigns were delivered to time and budget. As each new member of the marketing team came on board, the subject areas were handed over in a clear, organised fashion to enable the new team to take over and get going immediately.

The Outcome

There was a continuity of output and sales from the marketing department and an easier transition to a fully operational new organisation structure.
